The Costume Source dance community grant

Dance is important

We all know how important dance and the performing arts are.

  • They foster a sense of belonging and unity.
  • They provide a platform for individuals to express their identity, promoting inclusivity and diversity.
  • They encourage teamwork, enhancing social bonds and fostering a supportive environment.
  • They promote health and well-being in those who participate.

Dance schools are an important part of the community, but often their aspirations exceed their budgets!

Running a dance school is hard work, and we know that there isn't always much left over for extras.

Giving back

The Costume Source Dance Community Grant is designed to help dance schools with things like improving studio facilities, providing bursaries to students, or even towards a performance opportunity for the school.

Every single hire from Costume Source helps fund these grants, so the more you hire from us, the more we are able to award!

We love to give back to the wider dance community, so this really is a big one for us!

Open to all dance schools in the UK, we award multiple grants throughout the year, with each grant worth between £100 - £500.

How to apply

If you are a dance school based in the UK and have been trading for at least 12 months, you can apply for The Costume Source Dance Community Grant.

We welcome applications from schools of all legal statuses, whether for profit or not.

Applications are always open with grants awarded throughout the year based on merit.

Sizing tips

check_circle The most important measurement is the Girth.

check_circle If a dancer is between two sizes, always opt for the larger size.

check_circle Because we stock lots of different styles from lots of different manufacturers, we standardise our sizes to make it easier for you.

Girth
With them standing straight, measure from the top of one shoulder, down the fullest part of their chest, through their legs and back up to the same shoulder.

Bust
With their arms down at their sides, measure the fullest part of their chest.

Waist
Ask them to bend to one side and place the start of the measure at the natural indentation. Once they have straightened up, measure from this point around the waist.

Hips
With their feet together, measure around the fullest part of their hips and bum.

Inseam
With them barefooted, measure the inner leg from their crotch to the floor.
