Our Social Media Journey - Part 1

Socials From Scratch: What we're doing and how it can help your dance school

Veronika

Oct 1, 2024

We've struggled with social media for a while now. It's something we've always said we’d improve on... but we haven't.

That changes now.

I'm Veronika, and I joined the team earlier this year in Customer Care. Aleksis has asked me to take over our social media — something I've never done before.

Whilst brainstorming together, a thought hit us:

Are we the only ones who feel completely lost with our socials?

Turns out, we're not alone.

After a quick glance at dance teacher forums, we saw post after post from others looking for advice on how to manage their social media.

And that got us thinking:

Why not turn this challenge into an opportunity? Why don't we document our journey and share everything we learn with our customers and other dance teachers?

So, that's exactly what we're doing!

Each week, I'll walk you through what we've done, how we did it, what worked, and what didn't. The goal is to make this process as simple and accessible as possible — something any dance school can easily replicate.

Our Ground Rules:

  • Time Commitment: We'll dedicate no more than one hour a week to creating and posting content.
  • Budget: No hired specialists, no paid ads, and no "boosting" posts. Everything will be organic.
  • Transparency: We'll only use free tools (or the free versions of paid ones) and share exactly what works — and what doesn't.
  • Ethical Practices: No spamming, buying likes, or sketchy tactics. We're keeping it real and honest.

Can You Do This Too?

Absolutely! That's the whole point. Everything we're doing is designed to be achievable for dance schools like yours, without extra time, money, or people.

What's the Catch?

There isn't one. We're already on this journey to improve, so why not bring you along? Our hope is that by sharing what we learn, your school can grow without having to figure it all out from scratch.

After all, when our customers thrive, we all benefit!

Stay Tuned!

Keep your eyes on our Facebook, Instagram and here to see how we're doing and where we're at so far.

Sizing tips

check_circle The most important measurement is the Girth.

check_circle If a dancer is between two sizes, always opt for the larger size.

check_circle Because we stock lots of different styles from lots of different manufacturers, we standardise our sizes to make it easier for you.

Girth
With them standing straight, measure from the top of one shoulder, down the fullest part of their chest, through their legs and back up to the same shoulder.

Bust
With their arms down at their sides, measure the fullest part of their chest.

Waist
Ask them to bend to one side and place the start of the measure at the natural indentation. Once they have straightened up, measure from this point around the waist.

Hips
With their feet together, measure around the fullest part of their hips and bum.

Inseam
With them barefooted, measure the inner leg from their crotch to the floor.
